Over the years my academic path has not only facilitated a deep understanding of the basic sciences ( Physics and Chemistry) & Mathematics, but has also helped me realize the pitfalls experienced by high school and undergraduate students when it comes to these subjects. With this knowledge I have been able to quickly identify the root of the problem when a student has trouble understanding a concept and have helped them overcome it.
While patience is a hallmark of my teaching method, I also feel that a unless one possesses a deep understanding of a subject it is impossible to explain it to someone in a simple and elegant manner.
Have learned that while the style of teaching varies between teachers and institutions, the essence of science and math itself is the biggest bridging component ,and a person who is good with people, is flexible in his approach, understands what he is talking about and is genuinely interested in the student's success will be a great teacher.
